Built upon the proven M8 GNSS engine, this module maintains the industry-standard NEO form factor, ensuring compatibility and ease of integration.
Within the NEO-M8 series, the NEO-M8M stands out as a cost-effective option, tailored for applications where budget is a primary concern. However, it doesn’t sacrifice core functionality. For applications demanding the highest performance and simplified radio frequency (RF) integration, the NEO-M8N and NEO-M8Q variants are available. Notably, the NEO-M8N excels in delivering exceptional performance while maintaining low power consumption, making it ideal for battery-powered or energy-sensitive devices. Moreover, the NEO-M8N’s integrated flash memory allows for future firmware updates, ensuring long-term compatibility and adaptability, particularly crucial for industrial and automotive environments.
To further enhance performance, all NEO-M8 modules are compatible with u-blox’s AssistNow assistance service. This service provides essential GNSS broadcast parameters, including ephemeris, almanac, time, and approximate position, significantly reducing the time-to-first-fix (TTFF) and improving acquisition sensitivity. The AssistNow service offers various modes, including Online, Offline (with up to 35 days of data validity), and Autonomous (with up to 6 days of data validity), facilitating rapid acquisition even after extended periods of inactivity. This comprehensive assistance suite ensures reliable and accurate positioning in diverse operational scenarios.
